Family trees on ancestry

Post by Thunder »

I was just looking at Jane Birkin, the British and French film and music star who died last week and there is a family tree on ancestry which says she was baptised in Cheshire in the 18th century!, she was born in London in 1946. Words fail me.

Perhaps the Ancestry tree you looked at relates to one of the Cheshire Jane Birkin's below:

Jane Birkin mentioned in Cheshire Land Tax Assessments records from 1810 to 1816. Also a Jane Birkin who married in 1835 in Bowden, Cheshire. Lastly, there's an 1828 record for a Jane Birkin found in the England, Cheshire School Records, 1782-1950 collection.

The tree did however correctly say she was born in London in 1946.
