House name

Post by KayFarndon »

I have a photo of an aunt taken August 1927 at a place/house called Eroberhill, at least that is what the spelling looks like. Is there anyone out there who can identify this please?

Hi Kay - do you know whereabouts the photo was taken? Can you upload the image?

Thank you for responding. I can't upload it at the moment I am sorry. I did put the name into Google in case it was a place, but it obviously is a property as my aunt is in the garden and it shows a house over a hedge. I can't give any more clues and just hoped that the name would ring a bell with somebody, though it is so long ago the property might not be standing, or the name gone into disuse.
Thank you again.

I searched the name in FMP's keyword field, but no hits unfortunately.

I thought it sounded familiar. Slight difference though. Erebor Hill is mentioned in the Lord of the Rings.

Gosh Jimbo50 that's a surprise, maybe someone was making a joke between whoever it was sent to, though I suspect the recipient would have been my Mum, though I am not sure that Lord of the Rings would have been her kind of reading. Thank you for this.

Although if it was in the Hobbit that was published 1937. Inspiration was taken from Malvern, Worcester amongst other places.
