I have just received a newsletter from the Cheshire FHS which I don't think they'll mind me copying here.
It is now possible to search a number (currently 158, 1720-1880, but should expand) newspapers via the BNA or FMP free.

In order to search these free titles you will need to visit the main search page of the BNA or the newspaper search page of FindMyPast - and in both cases scroll down to the box on the left-hand side of the page noted as 'Free to View' - check that box and then carry out your seach
