Hope I can find my great grandfathers parents his name George Davis his parents are Samuel Davis & Mary Delaney and have been told he (George) came from Gloucestershire in England. Can anyone help. I always thought he came from County Cavan but can’t find any trace of the family there.

Can you supply a date please? I am assuming this would be an early birth date and unfortunately George Davis is not an uncommon combination. I put the name into FreeBMD just to see what came up, there were 5589 George Davis names listed.
