We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: Same lady?
Thank you Mick and Vallm09 - these photos are in a biscuit tin now, but they were inherited in an old desk that had originally belonged to Wilhelmina's family. She does appear to be a very pleasant person.

Re: Parmiter Nuns
Just putting 'Parmiter' into the SoG members' search box brings up several instances and there is a connection with Dorset - two wills of Parmiter men - but no reference to Catholic nuns.
Specific search in the 'Index of Catholic Nuns' 1598 - 1914 brings up zero too.

Re: Same lady?
I have now confirmed that the lady I have in mind was born in 1814-15 and died in 1894 aged 79.
Therefore I may be able to tie a third picture to the first two. See what you think
Her husband died in 1871 aged 73, so the relative ages seem to work out.

Re: Same lady?
I'm afraid I can't figure out how to compress the originals and then post them together without a lot of white space around each.
I have got them together on a Word doc but that does not seem to be allowed as an attachment. I will keep trying.

Re: Dates please
Although the outside of the case appears like tooled leather, and there is a velvet rim between the inner and outer frames, I think they are the cheaper version that you describe. The front cover has been torn away from each one and I can see a wooden frame to which a leather-effect coating has been...

Re: UOTC - Belfast or Dublin?
Thank you! I have visited TCD as a tourist but never found this building. I wonder if these were all The Queen’s contingent just as they went to their various units.

UOTC - Belfast or Dublin?
My grandfather was a medical student at Queen's University, Belfast, in 1913. He joined the University OTC in 1914 and was then sent (August 1915) to report to Dublin - at first to Trinity College, and then 'direct to unit' with the King's Liverpool Regiment. This photo has no photographer's name on...

Same lady?
In the same desk drawer as the previous two photos was this smashed-up lady. I think she must have been in a similar portable frame as the others, but has been prised out and was then insufficiently protected by the backing paper, hence the glass print and the picture glass have both been broken. My...

Dates please
OK, here goes:
What date would you suggest? And are the children girls or boys? What ages?
These two photos seem to have been taken at the same time - if I am right, they are grandparents with two different grandchildren. What date would you suggest? And are the children girls or boys? What ages?

Re: How to upload photos?
Thanks, I think I am half-way there but I need to 'shrink' the jpeg files.
I will keep on trying
