We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: Edward Lawrence

I too have not been able to find him in 1841 so far. I would suspect him to be in Kensington, as he remained there until his death... Unfortunately, part of Kensington is missing from the 1841 census. Also, Brompton, and Paddington. :( What was his address on the 1838 marriage record? Hopefully it ...

Re: Edward Lawrence

Hi Paul - Do you have Edward in the 1841 and 1851 census reports? I'm not seeing him yet. Were there any children from the first marriage? (Hence asking about the 1841 census). Also, what was his occupation when he remarried in 1838? I note he was a plumber and painter in the 1861 census. Just tryin...

Re: Howlette

In case it helps, here's more info on Rev J Howlette: Coventry Standard 30 June 1766 "The Worshipful the Chancellor of Lichfield and Coventry has been pleased to appoint the Rev. John Howlette, A.B. Vicar of Bickinhill and Great-Packington, and Curate of Bedworth near this city, to be surrogate...

Re: Howlette

Not seeing anything specific for a Richard Howlette as Rector or Vicar. There was a Reverend John Howlette (1732-1820). His burial record gives his residence as Foleshill. Burial place: Bedworth. This might be Rev John? https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/c0626d7f-2107-4c28-b70c-f320...

Re: can not get anywhere researching one family ancestor

I have tried everything I know and also the suggestions, but can find nothing for the Thelma Holmes we are looking for, As jonwarrn mentioned earlier - it might be a good idea to get the 1981 death certificate for Thelma Harkell: June qtr 1981 Camden 14 1880 Harkell, Thelma d-o-b 26 July 1913 Death...

If Thelma is related to John H V Holmes in some way (perhaps thru adoption) could she have been bor...

Re: Ann Brenning, my 5th great grandmother

The Macey children had non-conformist baptisms. Perhaps Ann was from a non-conformist family, in which baptisms for them aren't available online?

Re: John Way b 1780 Isle of Wight

Is this related?

Probate England and Wales, National Index of Wills and Administrations, 1858-1957
Name Ann Way
Death Date 30 January 1860
Beneficiary's Name James Way
Event Type Probate
Event Date 25 October 1864

It appears that Richard Henry Way settled in Australia.
