We welcome any query on Who When Where. If you have previously posted it on another forum (including the old WDYTYA forum), please state this in your opening post - this will save people redoing the research which has been done before: they can look at it and possibly go further with it.

Re: Help with a brick wall

Oh wow meekhcs and Jimbo50, this is amazing, thank you so much for finding these. I've seen them on Ancestry but the electoral rolls are a resource I haven't used much and need to get used to and use more. Unfortunately, I don't know when he visited my great uncle. I need to talk to my great aunt ag...

Re: Help with a brick wall

Thank you VALLMO9 I thought it would be something like that and I’ll have a look at the ads, even if just out of pure curiosity. Luckily there are only 27 results from your 1939 suggestion so it’s given me a few names to focus on for a bit (despite none jumping as the right Jane on the first pass 🙈)...

Re: Help with a brick wall

Hi, thank you all for your replies and I’m sorry I haven’t replied sooner. @KayFarndon I’ve tried looking for Jane Morris getting married but without knowing her married surname it’s a bit of a needle in a haystack with such a common name 🙈 @Jimbo they are listed as 58 Queensdale Road Kensington. If...

The ancestor is Jane Morris Born: 9th November 1905 in Machynlleth to William Davies Morris and Ellen (Cudworth) and baptised on the 12th of December 1911: She was living ...

No worries, for some reason I’ve not been getting notifications either, at least you didn’t take as long as I did!

Thank you for the link

Re: Birth record brick wall

Sorry I haven’t replied sooner, life got in the way then I got locked out by forgetting my password 🙈 VALLM09 - that’s what I thought too but can’t find someone who fits in the Liverpool BMD either, so I’ve sent the archives an email to use the research service to see if I have any luck that way. av...

Re: Birth record brick wall

So the 1921 census might have helped with shining a light in some of this (whilst also giving me a headache  ) He’s 37 and 5 months so the January date of birth is right (thank you VALLMO9) He and his son are also living with Annie & Albert Thomas so they must be family and she must be conn...

Re: Birth record brick wall

I’ll have a look at them. Hopefully the 1921 census will help with it all too (unlikely with John Herbert but I live in hope  ) I was just going to say ‘oh strange that’s a different address than I’ve got’ but I’ve stupidly look at Eric’s birth certificate  he’s the son I don’t have a date...

Re: Birth record brick wall

I’ve just remembered too that I’ve got Eric’s death certificate so I’ve got the address where he died. Before you mentioned the newspaper report it didn’t mean much beyond that fact that might have been where they were living but I’ll look into it more now
